Neutral Oak 67%

Elegant, yet age-worthy and full of rich fruit flavors. This is a rare and excellent representation of Virginia Cab Sauv.

Woodbrook FarmΒ 2024 Cabernet Sauvignon
Not every vintage in Virginia is right for Cabernet Sauvignon, but 2024 provided the correct conditions to grow some of the best fruit in years.
Our Cabernet Sauvignon is made with 100% estate-grown grapes, and aged with 33% new French oak barrels. The result is a complex, age-worthy wine with tons of ripe fruit flavors and a firm but not overpowering structure.Β
Only 72 cases produced.Β
Steak, blue cheeses.
This is a lighter, more elegant representation of Cabernet Sauvignon than its West Coast counterparts, but that actually helps when it comes to pairing options.
The firm structure allows it to maintain its classic pairing with fatty cuts of steak like ribeye and prime rib, but it can also extend to leaner proteins, especially when grilled.Β
Blue cheese is a classic pairing here, but this wine will also be great with almost any aged cheese, especially hard cheeses.
Anything too light, like fish will get overpowered easily by this wine.

Large Bordeaux would be best for the aromatics, but all-purpose will work as well.
This bottle was designed to age, so if you’re going to open it early (which is fine), make sure to give it some time to breathe.Β
Generally you would want to decant a younger wine for longer to help it open up and be cautious of exposing older wines to oxygen for too long. There are always exceptions of course, but this is a pretty good rule to follow.
Minutes to decant this bottle:
The correct serving temperature is important to show a wine’s true potential, but don’t stress over getting the temp exactly right. Use the chart below to try to get in the right ballpark.
If a wine has been released by the producer, it means it is ready to drink. Wines don’t necessarily get “better” with age, they just change. Typically, this change involves things like losing fresh fruit flavors in exchange for more savory notes.
The moment you should open the bottle depends on your preference, so it’s more important to understand the evolution and the life span of the bottle than it is to try to time its opening perfectly. (It’s far better to open a bottle too early than too late.)

Discover our family-run vineyard and tasting room nestled in the heart of Montpelier Station, Virginia. Visit the Training Barn Tasting Room to celebrate our rich legacy in horse racing and experience the award-winning wines from Woodbrook Farm Vineyard.
In 1950, Delmar Twyman, our grandfather, moved his family to his mother’s property in Montford, Virginia. Delmar was an elite horse showman who was inducted in both the Virginia Horse Shows Association Hall of Fame and the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame. Noel Twyman, who began riding at the age of 2 years old, followed in the footsteps of his father and was also inducted in both the Virginia Horse Shows Association Hall of Fame and the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame. Noel’s passion of Show Hunters changed to Race horses in the late 60s, when he began riding Steeplechase horses for Marion DuPont Scott. This then led to Noel creating a successful business in breaking and training 2 yr old Thoroughbred race horses and Steeplechase race horses of which established Woodbrook Farm. This legacy of champions inspired the family of Noel Twyman to embark on a new adventure of champion Virginia Wines.
The “Training Barn” that was built in 1982 is now the home to Woodbrook Farm Vineyard’s wine tasting room. Vaughan Jenkins and Robert Twyman (Noel’s children) and their spouses Noel Jenkins and Carey Twyman began the renovations in August of 2021. We would love for you to come visit to hear more of the stories of our history, see beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and most importantly taste great wines.
In 2021, a shared family vision to honor the farmβs legacy in Orange County, Virginia took root with the planting of a vineyard. That year, the family established their first acres of wine grapes in the rolling foothills of Virginia’s Monticello AVA. Working with the winemaking team at Michael Shaps Wineworks, they released their first wines in fall 2022.
Inspired by the legacy of champions set by their father, Noel Twyman, and grandfather, Delmar Twyman, Woodbrook Farm Vineyard is dedicated to both careful farming and attentive winemaking as a means of capturing the beauty of the Virginia countryside.
Welcome to the Training Barn Tasting Room, where family, history, and great wine come together. Here at Woodbrook Farm Vineyard, we keep things simple and personal β just like home. Enjoy a traditional tasting at the bar with one of the owners, who love sharing stories behind the wines and the legacy that started it all.
If youβd rather take your time, grab a flight to enjoy at your table, relax, and soak in the peaceful vineyard views and the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whether youβre here to learn, laugh, or just unwind with friends, our tasting room is all about great wine, genuine hospitality, and a true family feel.
