Stinson 2024 Farmer’s Rest
The 2024 “Farmer’s Rest” is dedicated to the memory of Rhea Hale and the historic Farmers Rest Estate.
It is a sparkling wine fermented in the traditional method, meaning it has gone through 2 fermentations − first in neutral oak barrels and aged for 9 months, and the second fermentation taking place in each bottle with a minimum aging period of 12 months on the lees.
The wine is crafted from 100% Mourvèdre (a red grape variety) but with the skins quickly removed after pressing, producing a lighter, copper-colored wine, or “Blanc de Mourvèdre.”
Rich seafood, aged and creamy cheeses.
This wine is going to have a wide range of pairing options, from being enjoyed on its own, to being presented with a main course.
It has a rich body and elevated acidity which are going to be great for cutting through seafood with butter sauces, especially lobster and sea bass, and can even stand up to roast poultry like turkey or duck.
Its stone fruit and bread dough notes are going to be great with aged, funky cheeses, especially creamy cheeses.
STANDOUT FEATURES: Rich mouthfeel, stone fruit flavors, bright acidity.
Red meat and spicy dishes.

This wine is going to be best straight out of the bottle, no need for a decanter here.
The correct serving temperature is important to show a wine’s true potential, but don’t stress over getting the temp exactly right. Use the chart below to try to get in the right ballpark.
If a wine has been released by the producer, it means it is ready to drink. Wines don’t necessarily get “better” with age, they just change. Typically, this change involves things like losing fresh fruit flavors in exchange for more savory notes.
The moment you should open the bottle depends on your preference, so it’s more important to understand the evolution and the life span of the bottle than it is to try to time its opening perfectly. (It’s far better to open a bottle too early than too late.)

Stinson Vineyards is a family and winemaker-owned estate winery in Virginia’s Blue Ridge Mountains specializing in small lot, garagiste wines with a distinct French influence.
The father/daughter team of Scott Stinson and Rachel Stinson Vrooman was joined by Rachel’s husband Nathan Vrooman in 2015. They take inspiration from “garagiste” wineries of France, in both their winemaking techniques and the winery itself, which is built into an old three car garage.
The wines of Stinson Vineyards are enjoying growing critical acclaim, and the winery near Charlottesville has become a visitor destination for its fine wines, stunning views, and excellent hospitality.
