Michael Shaps 2019 Meritage
Red meat, especially leaner cuts like of beef or lamb. Cave-ripened cheeses.
This wine was designed for complexity and elegance, not power. The alcohol and tannins are both moderate, which means you don’t want anything too rich or fatty to dominate the wine, so cuts like Filet Mignon or tenderloin are going to be perfect.
Grilled meats are going to be great too, but be careful with sauces as they can overpower the wine quickly.
Stand out features: Bright acidity, soft tannins, red and black fruit.
